THE Grain Millers’ Association of Zimbabwe (GMAZ) is today set to hold elections to fill the position of deputy national chairperson, with the winner expected to revive over 50 milling companies that closed shop in Matabeleland.
The deputy national chairperson’s position fell vacant following the death of Mr Thembinkosi Ndhlovu last October.
Mr Ndhlovu was buried at the Bulawayo Provincial Heroes’ Acre and was described as a food security hero.
Sources within GMAZ’s Southern region who spoke to Business Chronicle said two Bulawayo milling giants, Masimba Dzomba and a Mr P Manzanga were set to battle it out for the top post.
The Southern region consists of five provinces — Masvingo, Matabeleland South, Matabeleland North, Midlands and Bulawayo Metropolitan province.
