Southern Region set for a weekend of football battles

FOOTBALL takes centre stage across the Southern Region from this afternoon through to Sunday, with a busy programme of Pacific Breeze Southern Region Division One Soccer League fixtures expected to keep supporters on the edge of their seats.

Clubs will be looking to make the most of their opportunities as the campaign gathers momentum, with valuable points, local pride and early bragging rights up for grabs.

The weekend programme swings into action on Saturday with a packed schedule spread across several grounds.
White City B Arena will host a double-header, with Njube Spurs facing Megawatt before Aqua Stars take on Victoria Falls Herentals. Both encounters provide the competing sides with an opportunity to strengthen their positions and build confidence through positive results.

There will also be plenty of action at Chiefs Village, where Talen Vision square off against Zebra Revolution before Zim Saints meet Bosso90. The two fixtures are expected to produce competitive encounters as the teams battle for points.

At the Colliery Stadium, Hwange will welcome Imbizo, with the home side likely to draw encouragement from their supporters as they look to make their home advantage count.

Casmyn will meanwhile entertain Blackrock at Turk Mine in another fixture that could prove difficult to call, with both sides expected to fight for the points.

The scheduled encounter between Bulawayo Warriors and Mosi Rovers has been cancelled, meaning supporters of the two sides will have to wait for another date to see them in league action.
The weekend programme concludes on Sunday at Luveve, where Bulawayo City host Jordan in a midday fixture.

The match will provide both teams with an opportunity to finish the weekend strongly and add valuable points to their respective campaigns.
