Soweto derby sold out

Cape Town — As excitement to the biggest sporting rivalry in the country is building up, Carling Black Label would like to officially announce that tickets for the fifth annual Carling Black Label Cup are officially sold out — with less than two weeks left ahead of the much anticipated showpiece to take place at FNB Stadium on the August 1.

The overwhelming support by South African football fans, in the past four successive years of the campaign has proved once again that this is the most popular event in the South African football calendar.

Orlando Pirates are the defending champions with three wins over their old foes, Kaizer Chiefs who lifted the cup only in 2013.

The stakes will be higher this time with both teams wanting to claim the milestone edition of the country’s biggest sporting rivalry.

“We’re pleased with the consistent support we’ve been receiving over the past five years,” said Carling Black Label General Manager, Vijay Govindsamy

“It’s a reflection of the fans’ appreciation of the trust Carling Black Label has afforded them to lead two of the biggest teams in the country.

“We want to thank the fans for their continued support of voting and coming out in their numbers to all the Carling Black Label Cup matches.

“Without their support, we would not have reached this incredible milestone.” — Sport24.
