A HARARE man who baked dagga delights that got school kids baked too has been tossed into the cooler after a wild cookie caper that left cops shaking their heads.
According to the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe (NPAZ), Fortune Tendai Kasina (26) was the brains behind a bizarre drug operation that saw weed-laced cookies flooding the streets — and classrooms.
“On the 21st of August 2025, a police officer stationed at Machipisa received information that some school children were intoxicated after consuming ganja cookies at First Choice College, Highfields,” said the NPAZ in a hard-hitting statement.
Alarm bells rang when concerned parents and teachers realised that the only thing rising higher than the students’ grades was their sugar rush.

Cops swooped in and found 20 suspicious cookies, a sachet of soda, baking powder, and a plastic packet filled with an unknown powder that had everyone whispering, “What on earth was he baking?”
The kids pointed fingers at 20-year-old Leenkan Zvikomborero Muzanechita, who they claimed was the plug. But Muzanechita sang a different tune, throwing Kasina under the bus fast.
“He’s the baker, I’m just the eater,” he allegedly cried, as police marched him off to the cells.
Kasina eventually crumbled like one of his own cookies, pleading guilty to unlawfully dealing in dangerous drugs.
The Mbare Magistrates’ Court sentenced him to three years behind bars, with one year suspended, meaning he’ll serve an effective two years cooling off.
Meanwhile, Muzanechita is stuck in remand prison, denying everything and waiting for his day in court.
The NPAZ sad: “Drugs are threatening to tear apart our society, and the mighty force of the justice delivery system is geared to deal with persons dealing in drugs.”
