Tuku Golden Jubilee Celebration Beckons

The late Oliver “Tuku” Mtukudzi’s legacy in showbiz will be celebrated this evening at Pakare Paye in Norton, albeit posthumously.

Tuku, who became a professional musician in 1975, passed away in 2019 at the age of 66.

He would have turned 73 on September 22.

Today, his life and legacy will be honoured through performances by Feli Nandi, Killer T and Baba Harare.

Crooner Bernard Betera and the Black Spirits will also perform, along with new talents from Pakare Paye Arts Centre.

Located 25 kilometres northwest of Chinhoyi, the show will take place at Mukanya Beer Hall.

National Arts Merit Awards-nominated comedian and poet Andrew Manyika has a lot to offer.

Comedy has become a much-needed therapy for many people today.

Sulu positions himself well

Orchestra Dendera Kings’ heir apparent Suluman Chimbetu is in high spirits and ready to perform.

After a busy schedule involving charity work and his ambassadorial role at the Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Services (ZPCS), Sulu still finds time for his fans.

Tonight, he will perform at Position Bar in Avondale, Harare.

His show comes at a time when proper planning is essential, as the rainy season is upon us.

Indoor venues have become a priority, while those with open-air joints prefer to set up tents to ensure their events are not affected by the rain.
