Isn’t it amazing how time flies! It seems like a few weeks ago when the New Year hype was upon us.
If you belong to the tiny zone of the total world population that writes their goals down, I’m sure then, you were busy revising, modifying and constructing your personal goals.
Interestingly, research shows that out of the 10%, who writes down their goals, only 1% remain committed and disciplined enough to work on them consistently until they realise results.
The majority does not even start.
Now that in the blink of an eye half the year is gone, where are you with your goals? That idea in your head, the dream in your heart and those goals you wrote down, how far have you gone?
Are you among those who continue sitting on the fence, over-thinking, over-planning and waiting for the perfect moment?
They say procrastination is the greatest thief of time. The most ideal time you should have begun to work on your goals was when you set them.
The next best time is NOW! I suggest you make it a crush programme. Be an action oriented person because successful people are those who make things happen.
They move from idea to action in half the time that others take to simply write down their plan.
This does not mean they know everything there is to know about what they intend to do. It simply means they are not afraid to make mistakes and to learn from experience.
While others are debating, researching and hesitating, those destined for success are already learning, adjusting and making progress.
Remember, success isn’t just about having an idea, it is about doing something every day about that idea.
It is said fortune favours the bold. Being bold does not mean you are without fear. It is rather the realisation that something else is more important than that fear.
If you haven’t begun yet, I recommend you do so now, wherever you are and with whatever you have. Once you begin, take small, consistent efforts every day as it leads to significant progress over time.
Being idle, on the other hand, strengthen the fear in you, gives credibility to the doubt in you, and supports the reluctance within you.
As these negativities grow, they take more and more space within you, driving your dream into a corner and eventually out of your mind.
There is also another angle to it; maybe you already begun and you are committed to work on your goals, but then you suddenly hit a brick wall.
Ideas that used to flow like an endless stream, do not anymore, methods that used to work like magic have ceased to and prayers that used to shift mountains for you do not anymore.
This is where a lot of people miss it. They believe that this an indication that they are on the wrong path and should therefore cease all effort or abandon the dream altogether.
Truth, however is, this is a prompt for you to engage a much deeper action, bearing in mind that higher levels require a transformed you before you can access them.
Without doubt, certain things need to change about you before some things change for you.
It may be your thinking patterns, your emotions, your temperament, your attitude, your belief system or your level of commitment.
We were born to evolve, to become better than we are so that we move up and further beyond where we are.
If we remain chained in who we have always been, everything else about us remain stagnant and chained to the spot as well.
Begin now, to work on yourself, in preparation for what you asked for — what you have to become. God can never give you an opportunity that your character is not able to handle.
Be the doer! Become a better version of yourself every day — set yourself free from mental slavery so that you become the fullness of whom you were created to be.
