RENOWNED sports consultant Peter Mawere last week received the Global Leadership Award in Sports Ecosystem and Business Strategy.
This was at the 10th Fame Times International Excellence Awards (FTIEA) in Association with World Growth Forums and the European International University (EIU) Annual Recognition Awards Ceremony held in Bangkok, Thailand.
FTIEA has been established to honour and recognise prominent organisations and personalities for their respected achievements and contribution towards social, economic and corporate fields globally. It is one of the biggest initiatives on the international arena with the aim to search and recognise the future leaders across the globe for their outstanding performance and achievements in their respective fields.
EIU-Paris also honoured Mawere with a Professional Doctorate in Sports Ecosystem and Business Strategy for his immense contribution in Africa, Middle-East and Asian sports sector.
EIU is a private, independent higher education provider. EIU-Paris offers higher education programmes that are different from the French National Curricula and Programmes leading to French Government accredited university qualifications, which falls under the French Public Higher Education sector. It is important to showcase individual excellence in leadership as demonstrated by outstanding initiative, impact of work, and the inspiration to others.
Receiving such International recognition, serves to prove Mawere continues to be a leader in the sports ecosystem business industry, Mawere has more than 20 years of experience in the international sporting ecosystem working effectively with professionals from diverse backgrounds where he has worked in the following countries: Qatar, Oman, United Arab Emirates, Senegal, Kenya, Nigeria, Egypt, Morocco, Kuwait; Namibia, Zimbabwe just to mention a few.
Mawere is a senior sports business strategist at Barakitso Sports Management, a company with offices and operations in Botswana, Eswatini, Malawi, Namibia, South Africa, Rwanda and United States of Africa. Mawere said travelling and practice has left him a lot richer in content and application.
“I am happy that I have been honoured for my contribution to sport,” said Mawere from Namibia.
He has worked for Zimbabwe Volleyball Association, Zimbabwe Olympic Committee, Oman Olympic Movement, and in Senegal and Namibia.- @innocentskizoe.
