Zanu-PF youth leaders in Chegutu East have lined up a sports tournament in honour of the party’s First Secretary and President, Cde Mnangagwa.
The tournament, which is being sponsored by aspiring legislators and councillors, is scheduled for mid-April this year.
In an interview on Wednesday, the party’s district Youth League chairperson, Cde Oscar Makore, said preparations for the tournament were underway.
“The tournament is a ward-based one. We are going to have 10 teams competing. The sole purpose of the event is to campaign for the party’s President, Cde Mnangagwa. This is the very first sports tournament in our district and we hope it will live up to expectations. It will be held in Ward 2, Chingondo,”he said.
Cde Makore said they were targeting youths in Chegutu East.
“The event is mostly targeting youths who are the majority in both the country and party,” he said.
