admindirector for monitoring and evaluation in the PM’s Office Mr Valentine Sinemani battled with MDC-T security guards on Tuesday.
The guards claimed to have received an instruction from the Secretary in the PM’s Office, Mr Ian Makone not to allow him into Charter House.
Mr Sinemani stands accused of leaking a story to The Sunday Mail alleging that PM Tsvangirai is running a parallel Government.
The Prime Minister has reportedly employed “independent contractors” who are milking Government resources.
“We are very interested in the goings on in the PM’s Office. How do you use party security guards to bar a civil servant from accessing his workplace? Is this person concerned an officer of Government or party activist?” a source in the PSC said yesterday.
He added: “Surely if he is an officer of Government his employer is the PSC and it is the PSC which wields power to hire, to fire or to discipline. It is also the PSC which raises charges against perceived misconduct.”
The PSC reminisced on how PM Tsvangirai had made so much noise side-stepping Government recruitment procedures when his office employed officers that they are persecuting today.
“The chickens have come to roost. These are the officers whose engagement the PM made so much noise about. Today good love has gone bad. As the PSC we have a duty to protect the officer (Mr Sinemani),” the PSC source said.
