SRC to hold quarterly meeting

Some of the issues to be discussed at the indaba include corporate governance and preparations for the National Paralympic Games to be held in Hwange.
SRC spokesperson, Tirivashe Nheweyembwa, said all national associations are expected to attend the meeting.
“We are going to have the first quarterly meeting with national associations on Saturday. The agenda basically is the issue of SRC’s position on issues of financial management.

“We are also going to have a presentation on the governance status report. All national sports associations are expected to attend particularly given that we are emphasising issues of governance,” said Nheweyembwa.
Nheweyembwa said they are also expecting a presentation from the Zimbabwe National Paralympic Committee on their preparations for the London 2012 Paralympic Games to be held in August.

“We are going to have an update on Zimbabwe’s participation in the 2012 Paralympic Games and we will have the Zimbabwe National Paralympic Committee presenting on that, they will tell us how far they have gone in terms of preparations.

“They are also going to update us on the National Paralympic Games scheduled for 10 to 14 April in Hwange. The issue is that so far                           renovations are taking place in all suggested venues and 80 percent                                      of the provinces have paid their affiliation fees to the Local Organising Committee.

“All provinces are working to ensure that they have their teams participating in Hwange,” said Nheweyembwa.
The SRC spokesperson said they are happy that sport is being taken to people with disability and has been developing over the years.
