St John’s College to tour Johannesburg

Bart Zwart. The preparations for the tour have now reached an advanced stage and their head coach Gary Hewitt feels that the team is ready for the festival after training for three months. “We have been training for three months and the boys are ready for the competition. There is a lot of improvement throughout the team and it is a well-balanced side with a good blend of young and experienced players. “Last year we had a team that toured England. It  was a good team and they did well, they won four out of six matches they played.
“The boys  are looking forward to the festival and as rugby players, they really benefit a lot from these festivals as it gives them the opportunity of sharpening their skills,” said Hewitt.  St John’s first match will be against New Orleans before taking on the hosts St John’s Johannesburg and end the festival with a match against Windhoek Gymnasium School of Namibia.
