ZANU PF National Assembly candidate for St Mary’s constituency in Chitungwiza, Cde Nobert Jinjika, has said it is important for the party’s candidates for the harmonised elections to support President Mnangagwa’s call for infrastructural development by coordinating community projects at local level.

Cde Jinjika said while the President was focused on grander national projects, party members were supposed to help in the provision of social services in their localities to complement the efforts of the ruling party’s leader.

He said the development of schools, health and recreational facilities, among other amenities, was important for the well-being of communities.

Speaking at an event at Dungwiza Primary School in the constituency, where he donated cement, 40 sets of school uniforms, school shoes and seeds for the benefit of underprivileged children, Cde Jinjika said he would soon roll out a number of empowerment projects to benefit society. Other projects would target underdeveloped schools which would be refurbished to have modern infrastructure.

The donation followed a recent handover of cement at Zengeza Main Primary School in the same constituency for the revamping of facilities.

His wife, Cde Shupikayi Jinjika, is also leading projects that are benefiting vulnerable people in the community under Jinjika Club, which also donated school uniforms, shoes, groceries and seeds to Dungwiza Primary School.

Cde Jinjika expressed confidence that Zanu PF and President Mnangagwa would win the elections following sterling work in the last five years.

“Zanu PF is going to win the elections with six million votes for President Mnangagwa. As a Zanu PF candidate, I see an overwhelming win for the President, and a majority for Members of Parliament and councillors throughout the country,” he said.

Zanu PF’s purpose is to win the elections and continue with the legacy that was left by our heroes who sacrificed their lives in the liberation war. “People are seeing Zanu PF’s purpose. It is the only party that protects our heritage and legacy for the future of the children of the nation,” he said.

Developments like the upgrading of the new Chitungwiza Road showed that the President was serious about uplifting the people’s standard of living.

“We have seen the work our President is doing and have come into play with various projects that include schools development, assisting people to acquire birth certificates, national identity cards before elections and also helping vulnerable families,” said Cde Jinjika.

Zanu PF supporter Ms Rufaro Chaminuka commended the work being done by Cde Jinjika and urged people to vote for the ruling party on August 23.

“Dungwiza Primary School is well-known for being underdeveloped. Now we hope the cement will ensure growth with more classroom blocks built. We want to thank Cde Jinjika for such a giant step that will allow growth of the school,” she said.

Dungwiza Primary School headmaster Mr Oliver Mutambi said the donation would go a long way in developing the school.

“We are grateful for the donation of cement that will go a long way in developing our school infrastructure. We have an Early Childhood Development (ECD) block to be built and the cement will come in handy,” he said.
