MULTI-AWARD-winning gospel musician Dorcas Moyo has unveiled a star-studded line-up for the launch of her forthcoming 11th album, Korona Yeimvi.
Gospel icon Fungisai Zvakavapano, contemporary singer Feli Nandi and sungura legends Alick Macheso and Leonard Zhakata will headline the launch, scheduled for October 31 in Mutare.
The event will be held under the theme Maturity, which aligns with the album’s central message.
Dorcas Moyo said the launch would mark a significant milestone in her musical journey, with the theme reflecting the various stages of human and spiritual growth.
“The theme Maturity comes as we focused on the life stages of a human and how one should evolve into maturity. It’s premised on Proverbs 16 verse 31, where the writer acknowledges that grey hair is a crown of glory.
“This year is an amplified version of our previous offerings and shows. The fans should come ready to dance the night away and also sink into spiritual moments.
“The event is providing an opportunity for all and sundry to have an experience with the artistes they probably know via social media or television.
“The album itself is laden with spiritual uplifting and social soothing messages that are coming in a barrage of genres,” said Dorcas Moyo.
The project features tracks such as Korona Yeimvi, Mazita, Warikava and Rurimi, among others.
The musician said the line-up was carefully curated, citing the artistes’ exceptional talent and their ability to complement the vision behind the project.
“The line-up was inspired by the artistic wizardry of the cast billed to perform. I’m also convinced that the line-up will bring revellers a memorable encounter. I’m confident they will deliver to their optimum levels,” said Dorcas Moyo.
The title Korona Yeimvi, which translates to a crown of grey hair, carries a strong spiritual message, with the album using maturity as a symbol of wisdom, spiritual growth and victory through faith.
Dorcas Moyo has maintained a strong presence on the gospel music scene over the years, releasing a string of successful projects that include Mhanza Haisekwe (2023), Bvudzi Rangu Ramera (2022), Bvisai Marara (2021), PaMarah Tapfuura (2020) and Ndibatsirei Mwari (2020), among others.
