STARBILL were held to a third consecutive draw by a determined youthful Twalumba in a World Navi Division One League soccer match at Rufaro yesterday.
Both teams congested their midfield, but Starbill managed to get the first chance at goal when Talent Mandizadza was set up by Takesure Chiragwi but he miscued his effort.
Danger Fourpence was impressive as he used his experience to thwart the Twalumba raids which were initiated by Trevor Mavhunga.
The second half saw the introduction of Ashley Rambanepasi despite reports that he had been banned for an additional two matches.
He tried his best, but could not inspire his team to victory.
Starbill assistant coach Ikabort Masocha said they failed to create clear-cut chances.
“A draw was a fair result considering the way we played; we had prepared well enough to expect a good result.
“The league is proving to be very competitive,” said Masocha.
Twalumba head coach Wilson Mutekede said their game plan was disturbed by injuries.
“We managed to re-organise in the second half and created two clear chances which we failed to convert.
“The project looks promising, as our team can match such seasoned players,” said Mutekede.
