LAST year’s Starbrite winner — Novuyo Seagal Dube has not been in the limelight since her victory as she is pregnant.
Through her manager — Michelle Madau – Dube said she has been nursing a growing baby bump for the past few months.
“Novuyo and her partner of two years are expecting a bundle of joy,” said Madau as she revealed that Dube wears a promise ring which she was given by the father of her unborn child as a promise of loyalty and support.
“When the right time comes, their commitment will be made official.”
Although Dube’s partner is permanently resident in the United Kingdom, Madau said parenting would not be a problem for Dube since her partner comes home regularly. Moreso, Dube will receive help and support from her mother and band members who include her twin sister, Ntombiyolwandle Dube.
“This is the first baby in the band and we’re excited for Novuyo. We wish her the best and will help and support her the best way we can. Novuyo’s mother is also very excited about the baby.”
Despite being pregnant, Dube has been working hard, composing songs. She hopes to bounce back onto the showbiz scene once her child is born.
Her maternity leave will not affect her band, according to Madau, who says they have found a strong vocalist to stand in for Dube while she nurses her baby.
Apart from winning Starbrite in 2015, Dube is the lead vocalist for One Stand. She has worked with Sandra Ndebele’s Intombi Zomqangala, Umoja CFC, BaShupi and other renowned performers.
