MALVIN Madzimbamuto says he just wants to be given a chance in professional football and prove his worth.
He is the son of former tennis champion Fadzai Madzimbamuto and Tito Paketh. Malvin, a senior at La Roche College has been doing well for his college and was recently selected as part of the regional pick after outstanding performances playing as an attacker.
Asked if he cherishes playing in the professional ranks, Malvin said: “I just want someone to take a chance on me that’s all.”
Asked if he will scale the heights achieved by his legendary father Tito Paketh, who played for Old Miltonians, Olympics and Highlanders said he would do better.
“I think I’m better. Well I will be,” said Malvin confidently.
His father was among the most versatile players of his generation and could fit in any position, defence, midfield and attack and produce stellar performances.
Malvin has scored eight goals for his college in the new season.
A fortnight ago, he was chosen by the United Soccer Coaches into the All-Regions Squad.
He became the second player from his college to achieve that feat after Bryan Weimerskirch in 2014.
