CONSTRUCTION of the multi-million dollar Hills Golf Estate is on course and the expectation is that the golf course will be opened before the end of the year.

The Golf Estate Driving Range could be opened before the end of this month.

Businessman Ken Sharpe, the man behind this ambitious project, said:

“It’s a privilege to see this vision coming to reality now.

“The course is well on time to open before the end of the year, the driving range is now almost finished.

“The designers guaranteed me that they are working overtime and almost seven holes, out of the 18, are finished and the other 11 are well on target to be finished in time.”

Local professional golfers have hailed the progress at the Hills Golf Estate driving range.

Hills Driving Range will have a seperate club house from the main one for the golf course.

The range, which will probably be the best in the country upon completion, is being praised by both local and international golfers.

Designed by Zvishavane-born former European Tour player, architect Peter Mitkovich the Hills Golf Estates driving range will be among the best on the continent.

Mitkovich was assisted by Zimbabwean professional, Ryan Cairns, in designing the range and course outline.

Ignatius Mketekete, a local professional, said:

“I am happy that there is something going on at Warren Hills which makes the sport grow in stature.

“We have some good driving ranges at Chapman and Borrowdale Brooke but the Hills looks way ahead,” said Mketkete.

Another professional Munashe Madodha said:

“I think it will be one of the best courses in the region and with it we can dream of hosting some European Tour events.

“There is room for improvement in terms of our course structures and everything starts from here,” said Madodha.

Chester Mhende said:

“I am happy that the course reconstruction is taking shape and l believe golfers will enjoy. I joined the platinum membership as l have seen value in what WestProp is doing.

“The course is looking fabulous and l believe upon completion it will be one of the best in Africa,” said Mhende.
