Staunch Bosso Fan Dies

Lovemore Dube, Zimpapers Sports Hub

Lister Dube, a devoted Highlanders FC supporter known for her strikingly decorated homestead in Natisa, Kezi, featuring a Bosso flag and two club logos on the gate wall, has passed away.

Dube passed on in her sleep on Tuesday morning after a long battle with a spinal problem, which required surgery, according to her cousin sister Agnes Siziba.

She was 68.

Dube started supporting Highlanders in 1972.

With the rise of young players from her neighbourhood of Makokoba, who included Madinda Ndlovu and later Adam and Peter, her love for the club reached new heights.

At Natisa in Matobo, Dube helped 17 children with their upkeep and education.

“She said when she dies, Highlanders should be notified. She loved Highlanders and appreciated children a great deal. She lived with 17, helping them with their education and welfare,” said Siziba.
