Stealing relative’s car backfires

A Harare man has been jailed seven years for stealing a Mercedes Benz valued at $75 000 from his relative in Chinhoyi.
Tatenda Mandlazi (26) appeared before Chinhoyi regional magistrate Mr Amos Mbobo last week. Mr Mbobo suspended two years on conditions that Mandlazi does not commit a similar offence in the next five years.
andlazi will serve an effective five years in prison for stealing the motor vehicle belonging to his grandmother Mrs Casida Tuwaya of 27 Angel King, Mzari.

The prosecutor Mr Trustmore Mukarati told the court that on May 7 at around 4pm, Mandlazi visited Mrs Tuwaya.
He knocked at the gate, but got no response. Mr Mukarati said Mandlazi jumped over the precast wall stole the vehicle. —Herald Reporter.
