POLICE have arrested an 18 year old woman over a callous murder that has rocked Madzura Village in Gokwe.
National police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi said Sharai Foromani was taken into custody on 13 February in connection with the killing of her three year old stepson.
The suspect allegedly followed the toddler into a bush behind their homestead where he had gone to relieve himself and strangled him to death.
The motive behind the shocking act is still unknown.
The child’s body was taken to Gokwe Hospital mortuary for a post mortem examination as investigations continue.
The case has sent shockwaves through the rural community, with villagers struggling to come to terms with the brutal loss of such a young life.
