Musician Stoxy Saboguluva (born Nqobizitha Dube) has set out a mission of reviving the splash sound that resembles and showcases the daily life of western suburbs commonly referred to ekasi.

The Nkayi born and Gwabalanda based musician cum actor, has one album titled Ntaba Dilika. It has tracks namely the title track, Awakhiwe, Ngumngan’onjani, Ithemba Kalibulali, Sekutheni and Indoda.

Stoxy Saboguluva said of late, many artistes are shifting focus to trending modern sounds, leaving a gap to sounds which defined communities.

“I have a vision of making sure that the ekasi sound we grew up listening to doesn’t fade away. This is a sound that defines our way of life, the struggles and happy moments. My music is inspired by the likes of Dan Tshanda, Patricia Majalisa and Dalom Kids.

“Although l am pursuing this agenda, l have had challenges of copyright as some people feel the sound is that of my mentors. As an artiste l hope to grow, become a big producer and one day own a recording label to push the splash sound,” said Stoxy Saboguluva.
