THE Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has urged dog owners to ensure their animals are properly secured at all times following a dog attack that left six people injured in Sauerstown, Bulawayo.
The incident occurred on September 27, when a stray dog attacked six people — five children and an adult — who were playing inside a premises.
The victims sustained injuries and were referred to a medical facility for treatment.
The dog was subsequently killed by members of the community.
In a statement, the ZRP reiterated the need for dog owners to exercise responsibility and prevent their animals from roaming freely.
“Dog owners should exercise responsibility and ensure that their dogs are properly secured at all times to prevent attacks on members of the public,” said the police.
The police urged members of the public to take necessary precautions when dealing with stray or potentially dangerous dogs.
