STUART Krog continued with his fine form after he won the Lowveld Pro-Am at Hippo Valley and Triangle golf course yesterday.
The Chapman-based top professional, fresh from winning his first-ever Sunshine Tour tournament, the Mopani Zambia Open, was in brilliant form.
Krog rounded off the final round with a two 70 to take his tally to 15-under. Going into the final round, the former Henderson State University student had taken a five-shot advantage at 13-under-par.
He was happy with his performances and attributed the win to hard work.
“I am very happy with the win, and I have been playing well in the past tournaments, and I am looking forward to continuing with the fine form.
“The courses were playing well, and I believe in the third round, I did quite well after the five under-par, which gave me confidence. The competition was tough, but fortunately, I managed to do well,” said Krog.
After having an opportunity to play college golf in the United States where he graduated with a degree in Sport’s Management, Krog turned professional in 2022.
He had a successful year on the Betway Big Easy Tour and secured his Sunshine Tour Card for the 2023-2024 Season.
Since turning professional, Krog has demonstrated consistency on the Sunshine Tour and has competed in events co-sanctioned with the Challenge Tour and the DP World Tour.
Zimbabwean-born Portuguese professional Stephen Ferreira and Zambian Sydney Wemba were tied on second position on nine-under-par.
Visitor Mapwanya was on fourth on seven-under as Robson Chinhoi finished fifth on four-under-par.
Tafadzwa Nyamukondiwa’s exposure on the Sunshine Tour is finally paying off after he finished tied for sixth place with Ryan Cairns on three-under as Tonderai Masunga was seventh on two-under.
Lowveld pro-am is sponsored by Tongaat Hullets and has been a regular on the professional golfers’ calendar.
