Students accuse Gweru college of duplicity

STUDENTS who completed professional courses with a local private college in Gweru are up in arms with the college after it failed to issue them certificates for the course.
A group of students who spoke to Chronicle yesterday said they were shocked to learn that the organisation, which offered different six-month courses under the name Macro Net International Association of Zimbabwe,  has since closed its rented premises leaving them stranded.

“It appears we have been wasting our time and energies doing courses with the college as they are failing to produce the certificates for the courses we completed. We paid $60 administration fees after the authorities indicated to us that we will be provided with the certificates upon completing the courses,” said a Hotel and Catering student with the college.

The students said they visited the organisation’s offices at Tel-One building in Gweru Central Business District and were told that they would receive information on the availability of their certificates through mobile short messages.

The Organisation director, Mr Edison Ncube confirmed that students who recently completed their courses with his institution were yet to receive their certificates.
