Sudan selects new vice presidents

KHARTOUM. — Sudan’s ruling National Congress Party (NCP) yesterday selected two new vice-presidents.  The NCP selected Gen. Bakry Hassan Salih as First Vice- President and Hassabo Mohamed Abdul-Rahman as Vice-President, NCP Deputy Chairman Nafie Ali Nafie told reporters in a meeting headed by Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir.

Nafie also said that as part of a cabinet reshuffle, the ministers from his party in the new cabinet included Badr- Eddin Mahmoud for the Ministry of Finance, Mekawe Mohamed Awad for the Ministry of Petroleum, Ali Karti for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Abdul-Rahim Mohamed Hussein for the Ministry of Defense, among others.

“The rest of the participating parties in the government will select their ministers from the remaining portfolios,” noted Nafie. — Xinhua.
