SULUMAN Chimbetu has a soft spot for the Orchestra Dendera Kings’ old guard.

To date, Moffart “Mhofela” Nyamupandu, Solo Makore, Vivian “Mdhara Vhevhe” Ndlovu and Knowledge Nkoma form the core of the long serving members who worked with both the late Simon “Chopper” Chimbetu and are now under Sulu.

Mudhara Vhevhe, who suffered a mild stroke in 2019, is one the band members who have been there for Sulu and his late father.

The 40-year-old Sulu has been parading Mdhara Vhevhe to fans during live shows to cheer him up during his rehabilitation process.

“Mudhara Vhevhe has been unwell recovering from a stroke, and we are happy he is among the band members here.

“We will do our best to ensure he fully recovers from the stroke.

“I am happy to see him smiling on the stage and dancing again,” said the Orchestra Dendera Kings, during his recent show at Bar Rouge.

“I would like to acknowledge our loyal Dendera fans, all the well-wishers and fellow artists who have been helping us to help Mudhara Vhevhe.

“He is doing fine and my hope is to see him again being part of the band on a full-time basis once he fully recovers.”

Mudhara Vhevhe said:

“I’m happy to be back on stage doing what I love the most.

“Suluman is my son, who has been there for me. I have seen him grow from being a boy to the man he is today.

“He is definitely the man that I have always wanted him to be.”

Mudhara Vhevhe has been loyal to the Orchestra Dendera Kings brand from the time of Simon Chimbetu.

He served the brand with distinction and went on to work under Allan Chimbetu, when he briefly inherited the band.

After Allan’s split with Sulu, Mudhara Vhevhe joined the latter, along with the major core of the band members, Nkoma, Mhofela and Makore, among others.
