Dendera musician Suluman Chimbetu has taken his collaborations to gospel music as he features on CCAP Voice of Sakubva’s new album titled “Riripo Tsime”. Sulu, as Chimbetu is affectionately known, features on the fourth track titled “Mundinzvengesewo Jehovha”.

The track tells how people need God’s protection from the snares of the devil.

Sulu said he featured on the particular track because he believes that only God can protect people from evil.

“I have realised that I have to take part in God’s work and since people associate more with the dendera beat I thought it would be a good idea to collaborate with gospel artistes too,” he said.

The dendera king has also indicated that his fans should look forward to him collaborating with more gospel artistes in the future.

CCAP Voice of Sakubva secretary Milward Blaimu said working with Suluman was a great honour and expressed hope that their music will reach a bigger audience.

“We are hoping that our album will have more publicity as people associate more with the dendera beat.

“It is our humble prayer that people are drawn closer to God through our music and at the same time have a good time listening to it,” he said.

The new album consists of eight tracks which include “Baba Taurai Navo” and “Ndinokurumidza Kuuya”.

The album has been dedicated to their late director of the group, Joseph Koswe.
