WITH the much-hyped JamAfro UK Music Festival set to get underway tomorrow in Leicester, Suluman Chimbetu is humbled to be part of the star-studded line-up, which features Macheso.
Sulu will also share the stage with Vee Mampeezy from Botswana, Makhadzi (South Africa) and Winnie Nwagi (Uganda).
Sulu said even though he is no stranger on the international stage, he still feels honoured to yet again evoke old memories.
He said that Baba Sharo deserves a Doctorate in Arts.
In an interview with H-Metro, Sulu said his team is all geared up for the festival.
“Baba Sharo is our elder in as much as music is concerned,” he said.
“He has been there before many of us in the industry and deserves to be respected and honoured.
“He deserves an arts Doctorate.
“We last shared the stage with him on an international platform in 2006 in the UK, so this is like reigniting fabulous memories of great events.
“All is in place from both our camps and the promoters’ camp.
“Fans should expect an explosive non-stop Dendera act, thus we’re taking them home through our sound and songs.
“The band is feeling humbled to perform at the JamAfro festival 2023 and we’re all geared up,” he said.
Macheso left the country on Wednesday.
He shared a promotional video and promised fans in the UK a show to remember.
“Topinda hedu mundege takananga UK, Leicester, magadziririra here?” he said, with his band members in the background.
