The nefarious promoter
A prominent Bulawayo promoter, who goes by the name of a popular hit 90s song is rumoured to have been involved in a skirmish last week at a hotel bar he used to run.
The promoter, who is said to have been kicked out of the bar for failing to run it “professionally”, is said to have accused the new management of stealing his money ($10 000) and drugs for an unknown ailment.
Ironically this promoter is known to have a history of lashing out at people, even when he is on the wrong. Perhaps the skirmish was an antic to try and save himself from embarrassment, as already people have nicknamed him a “failed” businessman.
Homeless bread man
A former managing director from a leading bakery, who recently assumed another post at a rival bakery in Harare, is said to have been left homeless, after he lost his house in a plush suburb of Bulawayo. He is believed to have lost the house to a financial institution, which attached the property, after he failed to repay a loan. Fortunately for him or rather thanks to his gods, his move to Harare got him a place to lay his head at night.
The struggling businessman
A local businessman is involved in a war of words with a former employee, who is accusing him of failing to repay a “soft” loan. The former employee also argues that the businessman, who is said to have fallen on hard times, owes her dues for the time she was working for him. The businessman who is no stranger to controversy used to run a jazzy spot in Bulawayo before being kicked out for failing to pay rentals. He was once accused of nicking a fridge from the night spot after he was kicked out.
Luveve lady endures hour-long humiliation
Everyone has experienced an embarrassing moment in their life. It is such moments that we wish to forget. However, for one 27-year-old woman, the term embarrassment literally doesn’t even begin to describe the agonising hour-long moment she experienced about a week ago at a local hotel.
The woman, warmly known as Noma and is related to a football coach, will forever rue the day she tried to double cross her best friend by bedding her boyfriend, who runs a sporting academy. The boyfriend and girlfriend, a waitress at a popular restaurant on the outskirts of the CBD, laid a trap for Noma, luring her to a hotel, where she was made to believe the guy had booked for a night of passion and lust.
Upon arrival at the hotel in the wee hours of the morning, Noma was shocked to find the cricketer in the company of his waitress girlfriend and posse. Forced to sit and answer for her sins she endured an agonising hour-long moment of torment from the cricketer and his posse. Noma is said to have had no money (not even a cent) in her pocket and had to walk her way back into town in the middle of the night. Ever since the incident she has gone into hiding and changed phone numbers.
