Bulilima and Mangwe Senator, Ambassador Simon Khaya Moyo who is also the Minister of Energy and Power Development has sent a condolence message following the death of former Deputy Minister of Higher and Tertiary Education Mr Lutho Tapela.

Mr Tapela, who was a former senator of Bulilima and Mangwe, died last week. Ambassador Moyo yesterday described the late Mr Tapela as a dignified man who was an educationist par excellence.

“I have learnt with shock and dismay of the sudden and untimely demise of the late Mr Lutho Tapela in Plumtree two days ago by succumbing to stroke.

Mr Tapela, who was once a senator in the area and a former Deputy Minister of Higher Education was a man of purpose, foresight, humble and dignified.

An educationist par excellence. He contributed immensely to the sphere of education and produced professionals who continue to serve this country in various capacities be it political, social or economic sectors. He was indeed a likeable, descent and polished personality. He has left a legacy of service to his motherland. We will miss him greatly.”

Ambassador Moyo said however, he would not be able to attend the burial, scheduled for early this week, due to circumstances beyond his control.

“In wishing his bereaved family strength and staying power, may his soul anchor and rest in eternal peace.”
