Sungura Masters rejoin Ndebele

The decision of rejoining the group comes at a time Ndebele is still rebuilding his band, having gone separate ways with Martin Sibanda.

In an interview, Sungura Masters director, Masotsha Ndlovu, said they had decided to rejoin Ndebele after having widely consulted the interested parties.

“We might have parted with Ndolwane Super Sounds on a bad note, but we have decided to work with Ndebele.

“Ndebele showed us that he is ready to work with us as we told him what we expect from him,” he said.

Ndlovu said they parted ways with Ndolwane Super Sounds two years ago after having experienced some irreconcilable differences.

“We worked very well with Charles and Martin but we have a problem that forced us to pull out to form our own dance group,” he said.

Ndlovu said before they came to this decision they had long discussion with Ndebele and in the process they agreed to work together on live shows.

“We told Ndebele that we were only comfortable with working with him on part-time basis only.

“We demanded this arrangement in our deal with Ndebele mainly because we do not want to destroy what we started.

“Sungura Masters will never die and we will continue to have our own shows like before,” he said.
Ndlovu said they are helping Ndebele in promoting his album, Azibuyemasisweni .

“We have had a couple of shows with Ndebele in Zimbabwe and once the South African shows are cleared we will be going to South Africa,” he said.

Ndlovu said they worked with Ndolwane Super Sounds for more than three years and they got the necessary exposure to be where they are today.

“We have worked for a long time with Ndebele and we respect the long relationship that we had and that is the reason we decided to reunite with him,” he said.

Ndlovu said Sungura Masters would continue to stage different shows in Zimbabwe.

“We are having shows in different places and we are in Victoria Falls, before we move to other towns,” he said.

Ndlovu said fans should note panic as Sungura Masters is meant to stay. “We have managed to create our fan base in different cities so they should never panic as the group will never be destroyed. Instead this is going to strengthen our group,” he said.
