INTERNATIONAL herbal and health products manufacturing company, Sunony, will tomorrow (Saturday) hold its annual national business awards for its distributors in Mutare at the Courtauld Theatre. This will be the first time for the awards to be held outside Harare. The annual awards honour its distributors who would have excelled into the bronze (Over 5 000 accumulative sales per year), silver (20 000) and gold (60 000) categories.
In previous years, winners in the gold category walked away with brand new Mercedes Benz vehicles, while others in the silver and bronze would win refrigerators, plasma television sets, laptops and cameras to mention a few.
Sunony Mutare spokesperson, Ms Rosemary Takabika, said their products were fast becoming popular globally.
She said what was, however, important to note was the own business prospect that the Sunony products were creating in the wake of the high unemployment rate in the country.
“The employment creation prospect of our products is great and the business is really simple to set up if you want to be a distributor or shop owner of Sunony herbal and health products.
“We are ready to welcome individuals desiring to be their own bosses.
“The home based business industry is designed and tailor made to suite both working class, who will be on a part time basis and full-time distributors,” said Ms Takabika, who is also a shop owner of Sunony products in Mutare.
She said the turnover was rewarding for distributors, citing that some earned $200 bonuses per week, adding that their wholesale prices were also cheaper for distributors compared to other Chinese herbal and health imported products on the market.
Ms Takabika said the fact that the products were Chinese, however, came with some misconceptions of them being ineffective imitations, which was not true.
Ms Takabika said in Zimbabwe there had been an overwhelming response on the use of herbal products from China since 2009 when Sunony set base in the country.
Sunony products also include mineral supplements such as detox tea, green tea, constipation tea.
She said their herbal products were registered with the Medicines Control Authority of Zimbabwe.
To qualify to trade, one needs to become a member of the Sunony network and start selling the herbal medicines on a commission basis. The more people one recruits, the more points one scores.
The herbal supplements are used mainly by people suffering from different ailments among them hypertension, diabetes, cancer, arthritis and fibroids.
However, with the increase in the proliferation of herbal medicines in the country, people have over the years been warned to consult medical experts before taking supplementary medicines, especially those not registered with the Medicines Control Authority of Zimbabwe.
