HARARE City assistant coach Mark Mathe says the Sunshine Boys are investing most of their resources towards improving their strike force which they believe was their major undoing last season.
Mathe is taking charge of the pre-season training at Heritage School this week as the Premiership football club’s coach Mark Harrison is out of the country.
Mathe confirmed that Harrison will be back to resume the pre-season training on Sunday.
Harare City finished on the 10th position last season, but the club’s leadership believe they could have been more competitive had they been potent in front of goal.
They failed to finish off their opponents and had the most number of draws in the Premier League after sharing the spoils 17 times in 34 games.
“The statistics from last season prove that we conceded so many draws because we failed to convert most of our chances into goals.
“So our main focus during the pre-season training is to work on players to convert all the created chances into goals,” Mathe said.
