in the quarter-finals of the 2011 BancABC Sup8r Cup at a draw in the capital on Friday.
The draw was initially set to be conducted during the half-time break at the Harare Derby at the National Sports Stadium on Sunday.
But the organisers announced yesterday that they had moved the draw to this Friday, at 5.30pm. at their city centre branch along Samora Machel Avenue in Harare.

“The draw of the 2011 Sup8r Cup will now be held on Friday at 5.30pm at our Samora Machel branch in Harare,” said BancABC Sup8r Cup organiser Desmond “Dezola” Ali.
“The format remains the same that the top four teams on the Premiership table last year will be seeded and will be drawn against the teams that finished from fifth place to eighth place.

“We expecting a bigger and better tournament this year and there is, generally, a lot of excitement, related to our football, and we believe the BancABC Sup8r Cup will add to the fun.”
Ali said the sponsors had decided that Dynamos will have to play their quarter-final tie in Chiredzi, where the bank are opening a new branch.

“Whichever team is drawn against Dynamos in the quarter-finals will have to go to play in Chiredzi as part of our efforts to spread the game and also to bring it to those people who support us as a business,” said Ali.
“We have a new branch in Chiredzi and we feel a team like Dynamos, with its big brand, will provide the profile that our business and our competition needs there.

“Any team that is drawn against Highlanders, in the quarter-finals, will have to know that their match will be played in Kwekwe where we also have a new branch.”
BancABC also took over as the principal sponsors of Dynamos and Highlanders in a deal sealed last week.
The Glamour Boys are the defending champions after winning the tournament last year following a 3-2 win over CAPS United at the National Sports Stadium.

The two clubs could meet in the quarter-finals.
League champions Motor Action, Dynamos, Highlanders and Gunners finished in the top four last year and are seeded.
They will be paired against any of Hwange, CAPS United, Monomotapa and Shabanie.

The first quarter-finals will be played on the weekend of June 25 and 26 while the second set of quarter-finals will be played on the weekend of July 9 and 10.
