FORMER Highlanders player Netsai “Super” Moyo has poured out his disappointment at the club’s failure to lure Warriors midfielder Mthokozisi Msebe.
Msebe, who last season played for Bulawayo Chiefs, has penned a contract with Simba Bhora of Bindura.
The mid-fielder’s move seems to have not met well with Moyo, who on his Facebook post, said Highlanders should have got the players’ signature. The 22-year-old Msebe was a marvel to watch and he ended last season on a high note, being counted among the best players in the league. Moyo even questioned what kind of players the Bulawayo giants want?
“How on earth does Highlanders fail to sign Mthokozisi Msebe…Mhlobo bani weplayer is this team looking for? (What sort of player is the team looking for?). Sikhona isingilimbane esenzakalayo lapha (There’s corruption happening here). There have been signs as early as last season that the young man may leave The Ninjas and they should have started bargaining for him then,” reads Moyo’s post.
He vented his frustration at a time when Highlanders has received a fair share of criticism from their supporters who also feel the club is not doing enough in luring the best players in the Premier League. His post attracted traction with some Bosso fans in agreement.
Mbambo KaMpenyane said: “Good question Malume Super. This is why we need an overhaul of the whole system. It’s frustrating and depressing.”
Nqo kaNkomo added on the comments saying “That’s why we need new leadership, out with the old.”
Bosso has also received lashes for not snatching another Chief’s prolific striker Obriel Chirinda, who had expressed interest in playing for the team. Chirinda was also on ex-coach Baltemar Brito’s wish list last season.
It has dawned that what the fans wish, is not in the club’s interest at all. Of late, tensions have swelled among the Highlanders family.
But, only recently, the club chairman Johnfat Sibanda calmed the storm when he revealed that new coach Kelvin Kaindu will be supported in getting the players he wants.
“Acquiring a player has so many dynamics. If a player is beyond the Highlanders purse it’s difficult to bring them. If a player comes with conditions that probably Highlanders won’t meet, it’s difficult to bring them,” Sibanda told Zimpapers Sports Hub last week.
Meanwhile, in preparation for the upcoming season, Bosso have signed Marvin Sibanda who was playing for Little Rock in the United States. The club has also secured the services of Calvin Chigonero from Talen Vision.
The club is in the process of offloading some players from the last season squad and also renewing contracts ahead of the season that is expected to start end of February. – @NkosieLegend.
