SwaziFix…News site reveals plan to rig Swaziland-Zim match…Claims Football Association of Zambia has evidence

Sports Reporter
A Swaziland online news site has published sensational claims that the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) is in possession of evidence of plans to fix the outcome of the forthcoming two Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers in favour of Swaziland.

The Swazi Observer also said Swaziland players must not buy much into the scandal and warned them not to be lured into it. The call was made by South African-based Mpumalanga Black Aces development coach Dennis Masina, a former Swaziland international.

However, when contacted for comment to shed more light on the story, the Swazi Observer claimed it was a typographical error.

Below is the story on the newspaper’s website.

“Yuki” warns local players against match-fixing

By Sanele Jele

SOCCER – FORMER Swazi international and SA Mpumalanga Black Aces development coach Dennis “Yuki” Masina has advised Sihlangu players not to buy much into the match-fixing scandal happening in Zimbabwe or let alone be lured into it.

Masina made these remarks during the ministry of health circumcision campaign held at Happy Valley Hotel over the weekend.

The Afcon qualifier ties pitting Swaziland and Zimbabwe have been reportedly targeted for manipulation before Zifa busted the alleged plot last week. The Zambian football mother body claims to hold evidence of a plan to fix the outcome of the two matches in favour of Swaziland, with former Zifa Chief Executive Officer Henrietta Rushwaya, former Warriors’ coach Ian Gorowa, (Warriors’ coach Callisto Pasuwa)’s assistant Nation Dube, and the mother body’s executive committee member, Edzai Kasinauyo, all fingered in the suspected scam.

Investigations are ongoing in the case.
