SWAZILAND-based media company Hala Africa TV has joined forces with Bulawayo-based arts organisation United Executive Company (UEC) in a drive meant to promote local talent.
UEC chief operations officer Khayelihle Nyathi said the partnership will see them rolling out events that are meant to identify raw talent which has for years been left out.
The programmes will be aired on the Hala Africa TV platform something that will see the talent being exposed to diverse audiences from different parts of the world.
“In the coming months, we’ll be working on talent shows that seek to identify talent among youths that have been failing to break through,” said Nyathi.
He said their organisation is driven by the need to uplift local talent.
“A few weeks ago we started a campaign called the #I-Invest In that seeks to advocate for the prioritisation of the arts and culture, sport, media and technology industries. Africa is endowed with talent and so much of it is yet to be tapped,” Nyathi.
Hala Africa TV director Larry Mhlanga said the partnership will boost the local creative sector as they will give unidentified talent a platform to showcase their art regionally.
“Through the partnership, we’ll serve as the media partner that’ll give talent from Zimbabwe an opportunity to promote their works and be able to reach out to different media platforms,” he said.
Mhlanga said Hala Group is a 360 Media Group of companies which runs a number of media entities in Swaziland. It has partners across the world.
