“Sweet Guluva is a man in demand at the moment and when the opportunity for him to be part of our show came through we couldn’t resist. So we are excited to have secured him for the Durban Music Fest.
“We have many exciting community activations planned, as we truly are a company of the people, and our initiatives reflect that commitment. Additionally, we are excited to reveal that every ticket holder will have the opportunity to win a brand-new car, generously sponsored by Kia. This prize will be awarded live on stage by [American rapper] Rick Ross. We are proud to announce that 50% of the tickets have already been sold.”
Two weeks ago, they held a competition for upcoming rappers at Rockets in Umhlanga, where Xavier Thomas merged as a winner.
“I take great pride in all 50 contestants who showcased their talent, as well as the nearly 2,000 individuals who participated in the artist contest. While there can only be one winner, I am thrilled to announce that Xavier Thomas has emerged victorious.
“He demonstrated remarkable determination throughout the competition and delivered an outstanding live performance at the final four auditions. As the winner, he will receive a distribution, publishing, and management contract, along with a cameo in Rick Ross’s upcoming music video, which will be filmed in Africa.
“Xavier will also be sharing the stage at the Durban Music Fest on May 3 at Moses Mabhida stadium with some of the most prominent names in the music industry, including Rick Ross,” the company said − Times.
