Swimming fans in for a treat at City Pools

THE City of Bulawayo will be abuzz later this week when the City Pool hosts the Senior National Swimming Championships on Thursday.
Swimming fans are in for a treat as all the 10 provinces will be in attendance in a bid to have their swimmers selected for the national team.
Set to begin on Thursday, the senior championships will run for four days and end on Monday.
The event will be hosted by the Matabeleland Amateur Swimming Board.
They have promised an event to remember.
Fierce competition is what they say they have in store for the visitors. A number of events have been used to fine tune the swimmers.
MASB is headed by city businessman Eddie Cyprianos.
“We are expecting this event to be a success and we are not only talking about hosting a memorable event but also giving the other provinces a good run for their money in producing top-class performances on the part of our swimmers.”
“Our team is being fine tuned at the moment and we are expecting a good showing by them,” said Cyprianos.
Lezar brothers, Josh, Jordyn and Jaryd, the ever ready to deliver and outstanding Cyprianos brothers, Andresious, Brendon and Denilson, the excellent Isemongers, Luke, Jamie and Roan, Savannah Du Preez, Gugulethu Msongelwa, Nothando Netsha, Norma Sithole, Jessica Hammond are Matabeleland’s hopes for a medal.
“We are now working as a team and anyone who has seen the competitiveness in the Cyprianos, Isemonger and Lezar brothers would testify that these guys put into one team pose a nightmare for any opposition and we are drilling them now in that they should not be complacent and work harder to put their domination on the national scale,” said Cyprianos.
“We are hoping the team will produce a stellar performance and come out tops and we are urging people from all walks of life to come in their droves to support the team starting on Thursday going on until Monday,” he said.
