AMID rumours that Filabusi based Zifa Southern Region Division One side Talen Vision have parted ways with their Slovakian head coach Miroslav Nemec it has emerged that the club has only granted the gaffer a two-weeks vacation to go and see his family in Slovakia.

Ahead of the start of the 2023 local football season and the departure of Sweswe and his assistant Sithethelelwe “Kwinji 15” Sibanda, to join Bulawayo Chiefs and FC Platinum Royals as head coaches respectively, Talen Vision appointed a new technical team headed by Nemec with his assistants being Golding Dube and Saul “Soso” Ndlovu.

Sweswe helped Talen Vision finish the 2022 Southern Region Division One league on position three after playing second fiddle to eventual winners Hwange FC and ZPC Hwange who were the league’s first runners-up.

Sweswe has since quit Bulawayo Chiefs to join Gweru based Premier Soccer League newboys Sheasham.

“We have been getting calls from all over that we have parted ways with our head coach Miroslav Nemec. That is not true. I will be frank with you, the coach asked for some time off and as such he was given a two weeks vacation that will enable him to go and see his family in Slovakia. As we speak, we are in the process of finalising his travel arrangements,” said Talen Vision chairman Elton Sinyosi.

In the absence of Nemec, Sinyosi revealed that the team will be under the tutelage of their first assistant Dube who was formerly with Bulawayo City.

This afternoon Talen Vision are set to play CIWU in a match scheduled for White City B Arena at 12 noon.

Nemec, Dube and Ndlovu reportedly beat ex-Premier Soccer League coach Philani Mabhena, former Manica Diamonds coach Johannes Nhumwa and ex Bantu Rovers and Black Mambas player Fortune “Fokoza” Ncube to assume their new roles at the Trukumb Mining sponsored side.

The club also appointed Andrew Sidambe and Wonder Mpofu as their goalkeepers’ mentor and team manager respectively.

Mpofu previously worked in the same capacity with the now defunct Bantu Rovers.

Highlanders Football Club Legend Gift Lunga (jnr) turned down the role of head coach at Talen Vision Academy where he was going to be assisted by Owen Butete

Lunga turned his back against the club before he officially started duty.

Early this year, Talen Vision, accepted an invitation by the country’s football motherbody to be part of the National Division One League.

The inaugural national Division One League, was set to start this season and was reportedly going to be made up of 16 teams.

Zifa was set to embark on creating a National Division One League amid revelations that the confederation was going to be made up of teams from the four regions – , Northern, Central, Eastern and Southern – to make the league which was going feed to the Castle Lager Premiership Soccer League while the existing regional leagues would then continue as third-tier leagues, feeding the national league in a promotion-relegation system.
