Talen Vision targeting surviving relegation

NEWLY promoted Zifa Southern Region Division One club Talen Vision are targeting surviving relegation in their debut season in the second tier league.

Talen Vision chairman Otrick Siziba said promotion to Division One took them by surprise and they were now making necessary preparations for the team to match the standard of play in their new league.

Talen Vision won the Zifa Bulawayo Division Two league last year and were promoted into Division One together with runners-up Highlanders Academy.

“We’re three weeks into training and so far the boys are shaping up. We haven’t yet made any additions to the side, but are hoping to bring in a few new faces to boost our team as we brace for the new challenges of Division One football. We’re just aiming at surviving relegation this season. We want to blend in and survive,” said Siziba.

He said they were in Division Three in 2014 and it is impressive that they won promotion into Division One after just one season in Division Two.

Head coach Saul Ndlovu said: “We’re still a growing team and promotion means we are playing well.

“We’re working closely to select eight players to beef up our side and are targeting players that are under 24 years of age. We’re hoping to add two central defenders, four midfielders and two strikers to help our team survive in Division One.”
