TAMY is setting her sights on the global music stage after launching her Grammy Consideration Campaign for her album ‘Royalty’ and the song ‘Away’.

The music diva has put forward ‘Royalty’ for ‘Best Global Music Album’ and ‘Away’ for Best African Music Performance at the 69th Annual Grammy Awards.

The move marks an important step in her musical career as she seeks recognition from one of the world’s biggest music awards.

However, submitting music for Grammy consideration does not guarantee a nomination as the recordings must go through the academy’s selection process before the final nominees are announced.

Tamy expressed gratitude for the opportunity to submit ‘Royalty’, saying the album was a special project that reflected her musical journey.

“Every song on ‘Royalty’ holds a special place in my heart. I’m grateful to have this body of work submitted for GRAMMY consideration in Best Global Music Album at the 69th Annual GRAMMY Awards,” she said.

“Thank you for being part of my journey and continuing to show my music so much love.”

Her campaign is likely to draw attention to ‘Away’, which she hopes will compete in the Best African Music Performance category.

The campaign represents an opportunity to put local talent, culture and creativity before a wider international audience.

Although the submission is not a nomination, it raises an important question for Tamy and her fans: could the singer become one of Zimbabwe’s Grammy success stories?

The answer will depend on the Academy’s selection process. For now, Tamy has taken a step towards fulfilling her international dreams, with the final outcome still to be determined.
