Taxi driver robbed at gunpoint

Court Reporter
An unlicensed ex-soldier allegedly robbed a taxi driver of his vehicle at gunpoint and used the vehicle to ply the Harare-Kadoma route. Rodwell Mhande (27) and an alleged accomplice still at large reportedly approached Anthony Mutizwa at Mbudzi terminus in Harare and hired him on the pretext they wanted to go to Chitungwiza. Along the way, the pair drew a pistol and threatened Mutizwa with death before dumping him and driving away his vehicle. Mhande on Thursday appeared before magistrate Mr Tendai Mahwe facing two counts of robbery and driving without a licence.

He was remanded to August 4 with instructions to approach the High Court for bail due to the gravity of his offence.
