A Bonda Girls High School teacher is on the run amid allegations of bedding students under Mutasa District in Manicaland province.

Anesu Mautsa, 48, who is married and a father of three children, was allegedly caught in a compromising position with one of the students while others are understood to have claimed being victims of sexual abuse by him. National police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the case.

“Police are appealing for information that may lead to the arrest of a teacher believed to have been sexually abusing students in Manicaland province.

“Investigations have since begun,” said Commissioner Nyathi. School Development Committee (SDC) has since issued a statement to parents and guardians over the matter saying it is now under police investigation. Mautsa was reported to have been using his tinted vehicle and the school laboratories as his love nests where various girls were sexually abused without protection.

Meanwhile, Bonda Girls High School says it is reviewing security measures, strengthening counselling services and reactivating its Child Protection Committee to keep learners safe.
