A BHULU Primary School teacher has applied for a protection order against her husband who teaches at the same school after accusing him of abusing her.
In an application that she submitted at the Plumtree magistrate’s court Mrs Sikelelo Mangena said she now feared for her life as her husband, Kholwani Mangena had attempted to kill her twice.
Mrs Mangena and her husband are set to appear before Plumtree magistrate, Mr Joshua Mawere over the matter on August 16. They were supposed to appear on Friday last week but the matter was struck off record as they were both in default.
“I’m married to Kholwani Mangena and we have three children together aged nine, 11 and 16 years. He is an abusive man as he constantly assaults and insults me in the full view of our juvenile children.
“He is also constantly threatening to kill me. He has attempted to kill me on two separate occasions. I’m now living in fear for my life because of his violent tendencies. To make matters worse we teach at the same school and I fear that my life is in danger,” she said.
Mrs Mangena said she wanted the court to prohibit her husband from assaulting, insulting and threatening to kill her or exerting any form of abuse on her. — @DubeMatutu
