Teacher’s body stuck at mortuary

THE body of a teacher from Entumbane High School in Bulawayo is stuck in a mortuary two weeks after her death as her family members continue to fight over allegations of abuse by her children.

Mrs Sibahle Moyo (51)’s relatives said they received reports that she was abused by her children leading to her death.

The Chronicle on Wednesday visited the late Mrs Moyo’s house in Entumbane suburb where they met the deceased’s aunt, Mrs Sihle Ndlovu, who confirmed that the body was still at a mortuary which she declined to name.

She said there were disagreements within the family but refused to give details.

“The only people who can attend to you and give you more information are the elders who are in town. I am just an aunt of the deceased,” said Mrs Ndlovu.

A source said Mrs Moyo was suffering from a mental illness which caused her husband to abandon her for another woman.

It is alleged that the children took advantage of their mother’s illness and physically abused her leading to her sustaining a head injury.

Mrs Moyo’s relatives are therefore accusing her children of causing her death hence are refusing to bury her.—@michellzvanyanyan2
