TOO much gangster rap music is bad for the child!

A Bulawayo woman has sued her 17-year-old son in the habit of using the a?Fa? and a?Ba? words on her.

The a?Fa? word represents a description of sexual intercourse and is also commonly used as an intensifier or to denote disdain whereas the a?Ba? word is about a lewd or immoral woman.

The words are the boyas way of expressing anger at his mother.

According to the woman, her son does not only use the words but also beats her up.

a?The defendant (name withheld) is my son and we stay together. He is in the habit of insulting and assaulting me. He has been calling me names since 2011. He started physically abusing me in 2015 and does not respect me as his mother. On 14 August 2016 he assaulted me. He took a knife and instructed everyone in the house to go and sleep. We all complied as we felt unsafe and was also uttering threatening words against us.

a?He is very violent and is taking advantage of the fact thereas no father in the house. He has not been there since he was nine months old. His conduct is disturbing my peace and I want the court to protect me by stopping him from insulting me saying f****** b****, w****,a? she said.

In response, the boy did not dispute his motheras allegations.

a?I accept it. Sometimes it started after I got angry and aggressive,a? he said before presiding magistrate Sheunesu Matova ordered him not to verbally, physically harass or threaten his mother in any way. He also ordered him not to use obscene language against the applicant.

The magistrate also read him the riot act saying breaching the court order was tantamount to an application to rot in prison.
