A 19-year-old Dzivaresekwa man has appeared in court on allegations of raping his cousin (20) on two occasions while she was recovering from epileptic seizures.
The accused is alleged to have committed the offences in December last year at his home in Dzivaresekwa Extension.
The court heard that the woman, who suffers from epilepsy, had been left alone with the accused when she suffered a seizure and lost consciousness.
It is alleged that when she regained consciousness, she realised that Chivi was having sexual intercourse with her without her consent.
The accused allegedly told her that he had fallen in love with her.
On another occasion later that month, the woman allegedly suffered another epileptic seizure while she was alone with the accused.
When she regained consciousness, she allegedly discovered that he had again raped her.
The matter came to light after the woman informed her uncle that she was pregnant and disclosed that the accused was responsible.
The case was reported to police and the woman was referred for medical examination.
