Teenager up for murder

occurred on December 21 at around 4pm.
Harare provincial police spokesperson Inspector Tadius Chibanda yesterday confirmed the incident.

He said Munashe and the boys were playing at a place known as Komboni Yatsva in Epworth and were wrestling each other.

“The boy then kicked Munashe in the stomach and he fell down. He was taken to West End Hospital where he died on December 26,” Insp Chibanda said.

He said a report was made to the police leading to the arrest of the boy.
Insp Chibanda said the boy was released into the custody of his parents while investigations continue.
“He is likely to face a murder charge but we are still carrying out investigations on the case,” he said.

Children continue to commit serious offences such as murder, rape and robbery, among others.
Last year, police arrested a 15-year-old boy on allegations of striking and killing a 20-year-old man with a brick on the stomach and the head.
