HIGHLANDERS were held to a drab goalless draw by TelOne in a Castle Lager Premier Soccer League match played on Sunday afternoon.

The stalemate meant that Bosso have now gone two games without tasting victory after losing their previous encounter against Simba Bhora.
The match saw new signing Never Rauzhi get his maiden start for the black and white army while Brighton Ncube was relegated to the bench.

There was no any threatening attempts from both sides in the opening stanza of the game. In the 10th minute, Washington Navaya got a chance of scoring against his former pay masters but shot over the bar from inside the box
As Bosso were in search of the opener, striker Lynoth Chikuhwa failed to anticipate a pass from Marvelous Chigumira which ended up going to waste

In the 19th minute, Bosso got a a free kick in a promising position after Mackinnon Mushore was brought down near the box. Their set-piece specialist Andrew Mbeba stood up to the task but only hit the five-man wall that was set up by TelOne.
At the half hour mark, Nqobile Ndlovu failed to head a brilliant Mbeba cross from the right which ended up going out for a goal kick. Ndlovu cried foul for having been pushed, however the referee had none of it.
TelOne were to get a glorious chance inside the box but failed to capitalise as Blessing Sahondo totally missed the ball unmarked inside the box for Reward Muza to collect easily

Three minutes before the break, Bosso got another free kick in a promising position. Melikhaya took the responsibility but his weak shot went nowhere.
With a minute left in the first half, Sahondo got another chance with a header from a free kick but his effort went over the bar.
There were no shots on target in the first 45.

The first shot on target would come three minutes into the second half from Mushore who unleashed a long range shot that was tipped over by Criss Mverechena – who had a brilliant day in the office.
In the 54th minute, Rauzhi got a glorious chance for Bosso inside the box, charging down, he was intercepted by Mverechena.
At the hour mark, Nqobile Ndlovu’s header forced yet another brilliant reflex save from Mverechena and the two rebounds went to waste.

In the 69th minute, Mverechena was brought back into action as he denied Ndlovu again. He punched to safety Ndlovu’s low keeping turn and shoot effort from inside the box.
Towards the end of the 90, the Wi-fi Boys’ shot stopper once again made another good save to punch away Godfrey Makaruse’s long range effort.

The frustrated Bosso faithful would leave the stadium before the full time whistle.
